Pull/Kanban Systems - with interactive mixed model simulation game
Introduction |
Kanban/Pull systems are one of the option to connect process in lean value stream design. In this training we will teach the different ways to implement pull/kanban systems. We discuss the principles, methodology to set-up kanban systems and practical aspects for implementation:
- How many kanban cards do I need?
- Which kanban system do I need?
- How does a Kanban wall work and how to design it?
- Is Kanban only possible in a repetitive environment?
- What should be the size of a standard container quantity?
At the end of the session participants will have a better and deeper understanding how to design and integrate a Kanban pull system in a production flow. We will use an own developed LEGO simulation game to create a practical and visual learning environment in which participants can see the concepts in action in a very hands-on way.
Following aspects will be covered in the simulation game:
- Determining EPEI (every part every interval) – replenishment frequencies.
- Design & calculation of a kanban supermarket.
- Design and use of a kanban wall.
- One card/ two card kanban system/two bin system.
What can I do with this training?
